How Fenix Laboratory-Created Diamonds Are Made
- Fenix Laboratory‐Created Diamonds for Michael Hill are grown in state‐of‐the‐art laboratories which emulate the Earth's forces and conditions necessary for a diamond to grow.
- The carbon-atom in a diamond-seed is activated, stimulating the diamond to grow.
- The result is a laboratory-created diamond, which replicates the chemical composition, crystal structure and physical (including optical) properties of a natural diamond.

Laboratory-Created Diamonds FAQ
Are laboratory-created diamonds real?
As technology has advanced, it is no longer necessary for a gem to be "naturally" formed to be classified as a diamond. However laboratory-created diamonds are created in state-of-the-art facilities, and natural diamonds are created by forces of nature. How are laboratory-created diamonds graded?
